Pixel Hub
The Pixel Hub is the interface between the Pixel World and old computer peripherals. You can stream content of your phone to old PC monitors or TVs and control android with a regular mouse and keyboard.

Supporting Old Tech
Say goodbuy to Windows and macOS. The central goal of the Pixel World is to get rid of all other operating systems for everyone who uses Android on his or her phone. The Hub is the connection between the new Pixel World and existing computer electronics that users have at home.

Ports Matter
The Pixel Hub provides enough ports for a solid work environment. A display port, two USB-A and three USB-C ports as well as 3,5mm audio connectors for headphone and mic.
Wireless charging and data transfer
Within the Pixel World the data transfer between the Pixel Phone and secundary devices is wireless. You can work with the periphery of your old computer through the hub on the phone in your pocket.
Or you charge the phone wirelessly ontop of the hub while working.
Colors
I choose the colors I already introduced for the phone to mach with the Pixel Hub. Orange, blue, light grey and dark grey.
Who is The Target Group?
Schools, public libraries, co-working spaces, developing countries, low income families, startup companies, workspaces with simple computer applications, and all different kinds of accomodations. The Pixel Hub is an intersection between the new Pixel World and existing peripherial devices. It can be considered the simplest and cheapest way to get access to the pixel world. Schools with old computer equipment can profit from the hub as much as low income families that cannot afford a phone and a contemporary PC or notebook for each member of the family.
Market Research
Wireless chargers for phones, hubs for notebooks and docking stations for business notebooks already exist. Even docking stations that transform a mobile phone into a home PC exist on the market. Microsoft Windows Mobile includes a feature called Continuum, very similar to the Pixel World. Read more about what differenciates Mircosoft Continuum from the Pixel World here
Process
An extensive market research, some inspiration from Pinterest, a couple of rough design sketches and notes about size, material and necessary ports later I started designing the hub in 3D and fine tuned and revised every detail to create a reliable first design concept.
